About Dyce
About Dyce and Aberdeen Dyce International Airport
Dyce is a suburb of Aberdeen, Scotland's 3rd most populous city and UK's 29th most populous one. It is best known for being the location of Aberdeen Dyce International Airport, as well as for the fact that it is the site of an early medieval church dedicated to the 8th century missionary and bishop St. Fergus, otherwise associated with Glamis, Angus.
The airport is only 5 miles from the city centre of Aberdeen, and it is the 14th busiest airport in the UK. At the terminal, travelers can enjoy various shopping and eating facilities, including a game area, internet access, bureau de change, tourist information services and executive lounges. There are also a hotel and an inn on the airport site, and accommodation can also be found between the airport and the nearby Dyce railway station, the "gateway" to the airport, situated only 2 miles away. The station and the airport are linked by the 80 Dyce Airlink shuttle bus, which travels between the station, airport, heliport and Kirkhill industrial estate, every 20 minutes, between 06:45 and 19:00. Journey time between the airport and station is 15 minutes.
Dyce is also visited due to the green areas along the River Don bank, which are considered an oasis of relaxation, offering plenty of space for ball games or picnics.
